Wind cones are used for a visual information of direction and wind speed at airports, heliports, military bases, hospitals and industry in general.
The measures we use for the manufacture of wind cones are Sköld according to FAA regulations
The standard color is high visibility fluorescent orange # 12197 under federal regulations FAA # 595. Resistance to color fastness as determined by the method 5671 of FED-STD-191A.
On the outskirts of the cone in the area of the mouth has a reinforced nylon band where brass eyelets are not. 2 in the entire circumference for mooring to the fitting.
Wind cones Sköld are manufactured in nylon fabric with water-repellent coating Vinyl. In addition the fabric is treated to resist putrefaction and mold giving greater resistance to various weather and saline and corrosive atmospheres different situations.

HOW TO USE
FAA standards referenced below, at 15 knots (28 km / h; 17 mph) wind fully extend the windsock work properly. A 3 knots (5.6 km / h; 3.5 mph) wind will cause the windsock work properly oriented according to the wind. The windsock must move freely around the vertical axis. Wind cone must indicate the true wind direction within +/- 5 degrees.
